BE LESS

The Less is not just a band.

It is an idea.
A way of living.

It is taking the focus off of yourself and choosing to better others.
Putting their best over your best.
Choosing to be selfless over selfish.

This is the execution of that idea.
You are a part of it.
Tell us your story.

Join us in making this idea a reality and become a part of a movement. A movement towards being a part of something greater.

Send us your stories, thoughts, and photos, and we will post them here.

Story #1

"Guatemala was a place of great learning for me. It's was the perfect environment to cultivate an attitude of thinking less about my wants, my securities, and my comforts, and instead, put my whole heart into reaching out to meet the needs of those around me. I met many beautiful people who gave me more than I could have ever given them. We came to lay mortar and brick and returned with a genuine celebration of life having been laid on our hearts by people thankful for the simple pleasures we constantly overlook. I know that the reason for this trip was for me to come back with stories to inspire others to go. To reach out. To get out of our selfishness and enter into the adventure of a selfless life.

Show love.
Join the movement."

Story #2

As it usually begins, the moment we realise we want something so bad, we go out of our way to get it. It consumes us; it consumed me. I wanted for something to happen between this girl and I that I let it influence my actions. Jealousy overcame me, but I decided not to let it show - I simply didn't know where I was heading. At that point I kept thinking, "I've got to be less of who I am, and more of who I want to be".

I didn't want to be selfish anymore. I didn't want to be held back by everything that let me down. That was a couple months ago. Right now, I don't feel that way anymore and I've simply found a way to get around the unnecessary wants that slow our lives down.

Story #3

Being selfless is not easy in this world. However, when practiced it can be extremely exhilarating and emotional - life changing really. My wife and I recently walked 60km over 2 days in support of ending all women's cancers. It was an incredibly difficult task to do this but we finished with bad blisters and sore bodies. We raised over $7600 dollars for the cause and cried as we hit the finish line for those who didn't make it that day and also for those who died as a result of the disease. We also will visit Kenya in August of 2011 for 2 weeks to volunteer at an orphanage in Nakuru, Kenya called "Nyota". We sponsor a child there named Kevin Roret. He is 10 years old and has no parents. This will also be a huge and moving experience and part of our goal to bring out the best in others.
